The ethnic groups in Mozambique are:
- Macua are the dominant group in the northern part of the country
- Sena and Shona (mostly Ndau) are prominent in the Zambezi valley
- Tsonga and Shangaan people dominate in southern Mozambique
- Other groups include: Makonde, Yao, Swahili, Tonga, Chopi, and Nguni (including Zulu).
